I think @takeo hit the nail on the head with this one, Buddypress would be a billion times more amazing and revolutionary if it had the type of features he’s describing.
Right now I just have to turn off Forum […]

@takeo hey, you said this about six months ago….
There is an old plugin that auto-joins based on profile information, but this plugin is much simpler than that. All it does is add new members to selected groups automatically. That’s it. It would not be a solution for what you’re trying to do.
wondering what that plugin is? thanks!

@takeo I think buddypress is great! When I see people say this system is confusing it just make me confused on how they could be confused. The system is very straight forward. Do you want forum click yes and install bb press done next topic. Want groups click yes done next. For me Im running a [...]

@takeo Nope, you won’t have to pay for access to the support forums. That’s for our other (free) plugins. You’ll need to register for a free account and then I’ll invite you to the Buddyvents group. @dlabbe Not sure what the current rate is actually. As far as I’m aware, PayPal will display the USD amount before [...]

here is my TRAC-ticket for a issue I discovered on the auto-complete:http://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2452
@nuprn1
here is a TRAC-ticket regarding “Load More”: -
@takeo – Re: autocomplete – I just coded something that “fixes” this. Re: usability – Users easily outnumber developers a multitude of times over. Andy is the only employed person working on the project. It’s so easy to ask for something. A reminder that this is an open-source project where people help out when they can. Many people have [...]

@r-a-y, @takeo And the whole “comment on a forum post in the stream *OR* in the original thread” is absolutely insane. When a user makes a comment… don’t make them THINK about where to make it. They should just make the comment and it should show up in *BOTH* places. I totally agree about this. Forum posts, blog posts, [...]

@takeo “all updates look about the same. A small icon for each type of event (friend add, new forum post, etc.) would go a LONG way to making the stream easier to understand at a glance.”
each activity type is tagged with a css class – should be easy to add something in

@takeo David you are a genius! Thank you so much – works really well. I just wonder how it is done here on buddypress.org where the entire “community” is sitting in its own subfolder? Does anyone know? (I know the thread is a bit old, but…)
