I'm a startup entrepreneur inspired by the Social Web. I was the original developer of the BuddyPress Privacy Component which can be found here on BP Privacy's Group. I'm currently building a Publishing-2.0 social networking platform from scratch using PHP 5.3, jQuery 1.5, HTML5, CSS3, and MongoDB. It could be the fact that BP Privacy sends its request to BuddyPress core to check current login status before WP-FB-Autoconnect registers the fact that a user is logged in. I’m not too sure how reliable the WP-FB-AutoConnect plugin is with BuddyPress in general. However you want to copy the /privacy folder it needs to be a subdirectory living in /bp-default.

Yep. To offer privacy filtering to a site’s members, BP Privacy does not require any templates. These special templates are only required if the Site Admin wants to create a locked down site or place the site in maintenance mode. They actually offer a different type of privacy provided for the benefit of Site Admins more so than the site’s users.

Haha! No, you need to read the link that I mentioned. BP Privacy comes with it’s own set of special privacy templates. They are optional to use. But, if you want to use the Site Lockdown options other than open to anyone, you must install these template files in the proper place.

I have seen a few comments where I get the impression that people are using the special privacy template functions without actually having installed the special privacy templates.
