Confirmed while trying to make a comment on a sub-blog. Thanks for the bug report, intimez.
    Looking into it.

*Edit – This bug only appears when comments are set to moderate. If it doesn’t require moderation, it shows up in the activity stream. Problem appears to be with bp_blogs_manage_comment(). Still looking into it.

Thank you for confirming! Hope when fixed, all old activity will appear.

I’m struggling to find out what issue is. Someone please confirm it’s buddypress bug so I can rest. I export and then import to another install and same issue using default theme. Please. Driving me crazy. What do you think @r-a-y @johnjamesjacoby?

I haven’t had time to try and provide a patch, but I know cnorris23 is looking into it as well:

Did you find anything after confirming this on testbp.org? I noticed it has been marked as major now.

Yeah it’s a bug. Will work to fix this week.

Thank you for reply update. I want to help test. How can apply your patch to wp3.0.1 and bp1.2.5.2?

  • Profile picture of John James Jacoby John James Jacoby said 1 year, 6 months ago:

You can download or checkout a copy of the 1.2 branch of code from the Trac.

    trac.buddypress.org
    —Browse Source
    ——branches
    ———1.2
————Zip Archive (at the bottom of the page)

Branches should always be considered the most stable and up-to-date code for that specific version. Nothing untested or unsafe makes it into there, where as the trunk of code can go through extended periods of brokenness (like it has currently.)

John, I think activity feed should include an item “owner of the action”, and you ?

  • Profile picture of intimez intimez said 1 year, 5 months ago:

    @johnjamesjacoby

Tested new install of below and not working:
    wordpress3.0.1+buddypress1.2.6-bleeding (branches_1.2-r3194)

Settings > Privacy > Site Visibility
I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors

Let me know if need to list other settings

@metakappa The activity component needs to be matched up with the Activity Streams standard asap, and we’ll hopefully be able to do that in 1.3.

@intimez If you block search engines, your site is set to private, and blog posts and comments won’t appear in the stream. Make sure the option to make your blog public is the one selected.
